Windows 7 netbook performance

Netbook gives very high performance with Windows 7 Operating system. The netbook is very portable. Windows 7 is optimized for portable devices. With advanced power options in the notebook, you might be able to maximize the battery back up. The common issues that come with Windows 7 in computers are: slow performance, fragmentation, no free space in the hard disk and slower boot up. These issues affect the performance of the netbook severely. The slow start up of the computer is caused due to fragmentation, when the computer takes time to access the system files. The files might be scattered without proper arrangement. The other performance issue is slow performance due to errors in the hard disk.

The following might help you in resolving the issues that cause performance issues in Windows 7:

  • Error checking
  • Free up hard disk
  • Defragment hard disk

Error checking
You need to error check the hard disk. Errors might occur in the hard disk due to a number of reasons. The netbook might encounter hard disk crashes. Errors in the hard disk affect the performance of the netbook. Slow start up of the computer might also be caused due to the errors in the hard disk. You need to eliminate errors in the hard disk using error checking. Right click on any drive in ‘My computer’ and click on the ‘Properties’. Then click on ‘Error check’.

Free up hard disk
The performance of the computer might get severely affected by the hard disk space. If there is very limited free space in the hard disk, then the performance might become less. It would take more time in accessing various files in the hard disk. You need to uninstall non-relevant applications in the netbook. Remove them completely from the computer. You should also delete unwanted data in the computer.

Defragment hard disk
You need to defragment the hard disk. The defragmentation is very useful for improving the performance of the netbook. Fragmentation of files is caused when different files are scattered in the hard disk and so, Windows takes a lot of time to find the files. In order to defragment, you need to select the drive that needs to defragment from my computer. Right click on the drive and select ‘Properties’. Then select ‘Defragment now’.
