This Operating System includes features such as fast booting, XP mode, Blu-ray disk support, and automatic changing desktop wallpaper. This Operating System is fast and consists of enhanced features. Windows7 has three versions. Windows 7 builds on the substantial investments to improve security, reliability and performance. It features an improved backup solution to help keep your information safe.
Following are the reasons due to which ‘Disk not initialized’ issue occurs in Windows 7 and tips to fix the issue:

  • Due to the use of a new disk
  • Setup CMOS setup properly
  • Set jumpers properly

Due to the use of a new disk
‘Disk not initialized’ problem occurs due to several reason. This usually happens in a new disk. The problem occurs when the disk does not contain a valid signature. After installing a new disk if you start Disk Management, then a wizard would appears that provides a list of the new disks detected. If you cancel the wizard before the disk signature is written, the disk status remains ‘Not Initialized’ until you right-click the disk and then click ‘Initialize Disk’.
Setup CMOS setup properly
When the CMOS setup is not being setup correctly then the computer might not support CD-ROM / DVD as a bootable option. So you need to check CMOS in order to confirm that your settings are being properly set in order to boot from the CD-ROM drive. If CD-ROM is listed after a device that is bootable it will boot from the other device before the CD-ROM.
Set jumpers properly
When the jumpers are not being properly set, then most of the disc drives will not correctly boot. So, you need to check that the CD-ROM / DVD drive has the jumpers and it has to be set correctly. It is ideal that you use a CD-ROM set as master on the secondary controller.
